A bit late but ....
Aug. 26th, 2001 06:49 am...had some comp trouble.
So writing this in the morning of the 3rd day of CNAnime.
IT WAS GREAT!
THERE WAS A HOUSHIN ENGI GUMI THERE! *_*
And ... they even let shi/invited shi to be in the masquerade with them! The group won Best in Class for Journeyman category, so shi got a ribbon, too. Altho sis insisted shi should've gone on alone and got the ribbon under shi's own power - but who cares.
I WAS THERE TO HAVE FUN. And it was fun. VERY.
The group had (letsee if shi can remember everyone's names, and shi'll say them in the order shi saw them ^^) Doutouku (Tim. He's kewl. He's the most atheletic of the group and he's done choregraphed swordfights before. And the "lightsabres" he made - god, he built the things from scratch. And it even LIGHTS up. And if he found a smaller battery - it would have been able to be the II double-ended version.), Bunchuu (Chris. shi's not too sure of the spelling - but he was nice. He wasn't sure when shi asked if shi'd be able to join since they already had a Fuugen ... ^^; it went alright in the end, though, and he keeps "accidentally" forgetting and wiping his makeup off, and shi supplied Houshin Daisen for reference in makeup reapplication XDDDD, and shi /thinks/ he and the Fuugen are bf/gf. They were mockwrestling and cuddling quite a few times while waiting to go on stage and while waiting for announcement of winners. Shi was infinitely amused. Especially when shi had to help repin his pants when the other Houshin Gumi weren't around. There must be sth too all the doujinshi and fanfics ... XD;), Kinkouseibou (Lou, she's neat. She wanted to be Kinkou-neechan when the group decided on Houshin Engi theme for the skit in CNAnime. Very Witchy - and she lent shi a liquid eyeliner for shi to get lil' sis to draw the parasite paopei pattern. XD We were also talking about the tai/ou-chan spoiler. "But he's not bish!" "But I think he is..." [about F***i dialogue] XD Shi was explaining things she could read of the manga, since she has only the japanese books.), Chou-oh (I'm sorry! I told you I forget names. ^^;;; and I did forget yours ... anyhow, her costume was SO intricate. the designs - all the rope bound and wound about the buttons and collars and the dangling bits at the shoulders. *_* and it wasn't even permanent, the ones at the buttons. She was also filming a lot of things - shi wants. *_*;;;), Nataku (Carlene, I think? ^^;;;; It was ... nifty. I didn't think it as possible to cosplay nataku if you're a girl - but if you leave the shirt a t-shirt, it seems to be fine. XD), Shinkouhyou (Sharon - she was the one who recognized shi on the first day, and wanted to invite shi - only shi was daydreaming and didn't hear. Since lil' sis didn't remember what she looked like *sweatdrop* and shi didn't even /see/ her ... shi didn't know. Shi could've practiced the dance moves with them! *_*;;;; As it is, tossing taikyokufuin with Doutouku and the other Fuugen on stage was fun. Shithinks Sharon's the one who decides on group themes. XD;;;; she ... break things easily, apparently, so they refused to make the raikouben out of styrofoam balls. It still got broken, tho. Not even superglue held up to tripping over the yellow foam whip cords. XD;;;;; But she's nice. And she's also the one who invited shi after noting shi's just going on all alone and not doing anything. Why she didn't dare to invite shi before. "But you were so violent!" XD;;;; shi was? Gomen nasai! And if shi can get a theme-costume ready for next year, shi can get a room with them at a hotel for animeNorth! The main trouble shi had was that shi couldn't have all that much travel time - but rooming with the group would so solve problems. *_*<3 THANK YOU AGAIN!), Fuugen (Steph, she was kewl. Shi got to examine how the group put her costume together - see, what they do is, work on one/two of the same costumes ALL TOGETHER after they get all the materials! So each would be done in 1-2 days - and apparently, working days are like from 12-6. And it's the other one - 12noon to 6 in the morning. o.O;;;; amazing what you can get accomplished ... her taikyokufuin used sparkly gligger glue for comp-chip patterns. SHI DIDN'T THINK OF THAT! OoO;;;; But letrasat with an application of podgy glue seems to work okay, even if shi didn't have time to do more than "NUCLEAR FUSION (tritium 1H3)" on it. ^^; Back to Steph - shi was trying to take pictures with her. but the camera ... well, anyhow, we're getting cds with pictures of everyone in the cosplay, and shi's picking theirs up for them. ^^ We had great fun in the 1/2 hour waiting for the judges' decision. XD Cuz she was poking fun at someone and getting chased, and Chris/Bunchuu [out of costume except for the facepainted eye & mask] would protect her. We were just doing silly stuff with the bouncyball/taikyokufuin we had - playing volleyball, tossing, hitting each other - Tim-Doutoukou tried using shi's hoop for a hoop. XDD;;;;; A Trowa[?] who was with them grabbed one of the swords and we had semi-baseball - it was CHAOS but fun chaos. Especially when Steph-Fuugen and Chris-not-so-Bunchuu were necking and tusseling on the ground. AKUGI!!! XD) - and there were two other ppl in the group being characters shi didn't recognize and shi didn't get names of ... (they were in the skit but as "extras" and shi didn't recognize the series and forgot to ask!). But it was FUN talking to all of them - and Aka-honey - if you /ever/ read this, Sharon's missing Houshin no Miko's terribly. (Altho it may be a good thing that she's not into fanfiction ... ^^;;;;; *anonymous, lalalala*)
So as a result, shi was bumped up to Journeyman category rather than novice. But it was fun. Shi had no idea moving violently on stage would cause the hoop to - er, fly off. But the audience loved it! ^^ SHIHAPI!
Not much time to be lonely but still shi found time to think ....

LITTLE SIS WON A RIBBON ALL BY HERSELF!!!!
Maiji got MOST ELEGANT for her Yumei costume in the Novice (1st timer) Category!!!!
She was just /sitting/ there when her number was called.

"*forceable nudging* It's you, GET UP THERE."

Incidently, before shi was absorbed (bad word? XD) into the houshin-gumi, shi was #43. They were #32.
But it was a good night. A VERY good night.
And shi saw the first two eps of Angelic Layer with little sis. Now shi wants the OST or at least, get mp3s of the Op & the Ed themes.
minor annoyance (now): there's something wrong with the way the cameral scrolls film. It turns it a 24 frame into 35+ frames. >.>;;;;
It was FINE yesterday ... but it did that to BOTH rolls of film today. The first film was stuck on the first frame so shi has to get somebody from a photo place to dig it out so shi can finish shooting it. >.<; The second /was/ going, but why so slow? It is scrolling, but it's at 30 now.
Looking back, apart from that, it was a Very Good Day.
Sis and shi had a spat about going off and running off and feeling abandoned, but it'll blow over.
And shi still needs to talk to someone. Still thinking. Still wants to share the happiness and the good moments so shi is writing. This is one long entry ... O.O;;; *looking back*
*heading off to church in about 1 1/2 hr and then changing for last day of convention* ^_^
